Mysteries - Solo Presentation from Laura Parker

Laura, 74, is a self-taught, London-based artist with a background in History of Art. Over the years her work has ranged from representational landscapes to expressive abstracts, and from intimate still lifes to dramatic underwater views.
Recent works are predominantly multi-layered acrylic and mixed-media paintings. With such a variety of styles and subjects, Laura is bringing together a fascinating collection of artworks charting her twenty-five year career.
The natural world, and in particular the flow and movement of water, is a constant stimulus to Laura’s work. At present Laura finds greater self-expression in working more abstractly, exploring what can be revealed or concealed in a piece, and creating a ‘conversation’ within an artwork between calm and flux, clarity and mystery.
