What do you love about culture in Wandsworth?
A band that has played the Half Moon for forty years. A supper club above a pub on Garratt Lane. A brass section rehearsing in a church hall on a wet Tuesday, loud enough to hear from the bus stop. Wandsworth never had one cultural quarter, it has a hundred small ones, and most of them you find by accident. That accident is the part I like, and most of what a listings page here is for.
What makes Wandsworth a creative place to live and work?
The person putting on a poetry night because nobody else was going to. The market trader who already knows your order. The choir that rehearses over a pub. Wandsworth is full of people making things without waiting to be asked, and you feel it more at the edges than in any official cultural zone: on the towpath at Putney, out on the commons, in the railway arches that keep becoming studios. The river is the one thing everyone shares, and even that, using to get on with something of their own.
