Wandsworth Live

A month of gigs showcasing the borough’s grassroots live music spaces. Get ready for an eclectic mix of talented artists, celebrating Wandsworth's vibrant music scene.

We are delighted to be supporting Wandsworth Live, a month of gigs showcasing the borough’s grassroots live music spaces. Each week we will focus on a venue, from The Bedford, Magic Garden and Sambrook's Brewery, to World Heartbeat and a soon to be announced line-up at Roehampton University. An eclectic mix of talented artists, programmed by the venues, will be taking to the stage.

Wandsworth has a rich musical history, which you can delve into through our National Lottery Heritage funded podcast series Our Music Our Freedom. The series explores 50 years of music in the borough, from the legendary Dennis Bovell to the school that nurtured the Maccabees, Hot Chip and the xx. Wandsworth Live is about showcasing the next generation and inviting local residents to support local venues, that are so important to artists starting out in the music industry.

‘We are so lucky here in Wandsworth to have such a vibrant live music scene. Live music is not only about the performance, it’s about enjoying it in the company of others, creating shared experiences that help reduce isolation and bring our communities closer together.’ - Cllr Kemi Akinola
