Our Planned Impact
When does the year start?
Wandsworth’s London Borough of Culture year will begin in April 2025 and run until March 2026.
When will the programme be announced?
The first details of the programme will be announced in early 2025.
I have a great idea. How can I tell you about it?
We have been delighted by the level of enthusiasm and interest in London Borough of Culture 2025, with many people getting in touch with ideas for projects and exhibitions. Although we wish we could make them all happen, as a small team, we don’t have the capacity to support them all. For this reason, we encourage you to look out for our open callouts as they are announced across 2024 and early 2025, to see if your idea is a good fit for one of our commissions, open grants or Community Investment Funds. Grants will be decided by our London Borough of Culture Local Champions - a new residents’ network making sure the year is truly made by, with and for local communities.
If you're not looking for funding but would like your project to be part of the year, look out for opportunities launching in early 2025 to create a creative profile and to register a cultural event as part of our what’s on calendar.
I’m a Wandsworth resident. How can I get involved?
We can’t wait to deliver a year to remember with residents and communities. There are many ways you can get involved such as joining our volunteer programme (coming soon), registering an event as part of our what’s on calendar (coming soon), responding to a callout, or coming along to an event next year! Opportunities will be published in the Get Involved section of this website, and you can also subscribe to our newsletter and follow @WelcomeToWandsworth to stay up to date.
What funding/grant opportunities are available?
Our programme for 2025 is still coming together, shaped by conversations with local artists, residents and organisations. There will be a mix of callouts and direct commissions, with different eligibility criteria although most will focus on arts and heritage and be open to those who live or work in the borough. Current and upcoming opportunities can be found on our Get Involved page. You can also subscribe to our newsletter and follow @WelcomeToWandsworth to stay up to date.
For funding to support programmes that do not fit with eligibility criteria, have a look at other council funding available. The Wandsworth Enterprise Hub has a brilliant list of funders, some of which may be suitable for you.
How can my school take part in the year?
Opportunities for schools to get involved are being shared in our Creative Schools and Education newsletter - a termly roundup of news, training and opportunities in arts and education. You can sign up here.
How can I offer my freelance services?
We are building a database of Wandsworth-based photographers, videographers, designers and more. Please fill out our Freelancer Form. Work is not guaranteed, and we will be in touch if your services are required. We aim to prioritise those who are Wandsworth-based, as part of a commitment to supporting our borough’s creative economy.
Can I use the Welcome to Wandsworth logo?
Partner packs are being developed for those who are putting on an event as part of the London Borough of Culture 2025 programme. These will be ready in early 2025, ahead of the start of the year in April.
