Two images are placed next to each other horizontally. On the left, a man with long brown hair tied up in a bun is using his hand as a puppet with two googly eyes stuck on top of his fingers. On the right, another man is sat down and dressed all in black, and is reaching over to the right with a deck of cards in his hand.

How much do you trust your own eyes? Witness a double bill of world-class contemporary magic, focused on sleight of hand, illusion and trickery.

Black Magic

In Black Magic, two magicians work closely together, despite being physically distant.

Exploring techniques of black theatre and double exposure – reminiscent of 19th-century trick photography- they seamlessly merge traditional methods with modern technology, to create illusions in real time, blurring the boundaries between the virtual and the real.

Iterations

Iterations centres on Cassani’s obsession with the skill and precision of sleight of hand magic.

In an exposé of the practising magician, the show explores how impossibilities emerge through simple repetition, actions, gestures and self-reflection. Through deconstructed routines, audiences are invited to reflect and reinterpret.

See how placing a coin into a pocket becomes a lifetime’s work, and discover just how hard it is to make the impossible look effortless.
