Maslenitsa Festival
Join us for workshops, performances, talks and food as we say goodbye to winter and welcome spring with artists from across Central & Eastern Europe as well as Central Asia.
This is a free community event for all ages, and workshops are drop in. There will also be a farmers' market on Saturday, so you can grab the freshest produce in town.
FRIDAY 20 MARCH
• 5 - 8PM — Meet the artists, chat and preview our second exhibition!
SATURDAY 21 MARCH — MORNING
• 10AM - 12PM; 1 - 3PM — Make flower crowns to welcome in spring with Svitlana & Anhelina Honcharuk
• 11AM - 1PM — Make your very own bird talismans with Bold Mellon Collective
• 11.30AM - 12PM — Join Eastern European goddesses to dance and connect with nature like a Samodiva
• 12 - 1PM — Learn to dance like a mystical creature with Surdce Dance
SATURDAY 21 MARCH — AFTERNOON
• 2 - 3PM — Listen to Malvi Ukrainian music duo and sing along
• 2 - 4PM — Bead wishes for the warmer season with Bold Mellon Collective
• 4 - 5PM — Learn about Eastern European art and queer histories with Zula Rabikowska
• 5 - 6PM — Meet people and draw freely as the day draws to a close
SUNDAY 22 MARCH — AFTERNOON
• 12 - 1.30; 2 - 4PM — Make flower crowns to welcome in spring with Svitlana & Anhelina Honcharuk
• 12 - 2PM — Meet people and draw freely with our self-guided art activities
• 12.45 - 1.15; 1.45 - 2.15PM — Join Orleta dance group for incredible Polish dancing for the whole family
Note: Orleta dance group will perform outside if weather permits, and at More Yoga (SW18 1UP) near Drop-In Coworking.
SUNDAY 22 MARCH — EVENING
• 1 - 3PM — Make African and Eastern European inspired paper fabric with Fée Uhssi
• 2 - 4PM — Make constructivist-inspired collage using vintage magazines with Anna
• 3 - 4PM — Listen to Malvi Ukrainian music duo and sing along
