575 Wandsworth Road (National Trust)
575 Wandsworth Road is the former home of Kenyan born novelist and poet Khadambi Asalache (1939-2006), who over nearly twenty years transformed it into a work of art. With almost every surface adorned in hard carved wooden decoration and painted scenes, it enthrals and inspires everyone who gets to experience it and is a unique background for connecting local people through the power of creativity.

Our hire policy
For WAF we are hoping to be matched with local artists/practitioners who would like to immerse themselves in the creative spirit of 575 Wandsworth Road and develop/host an intimate, small scale and low impact* event(s) within the spaces in response to the house and linked the theme of Creativity and Innovation. This could include small scale intimate performances or creativity workshops (for small groups up to six at a time).
*We are open to ideas about what these events could be, but they need to respect the small scale and fragility of this National Trust property. In the past we have hosted a musical performance, successful poetry, storytelling, creative writing writing and origami workshops.
