Volunteer at The Beat Goes On

Published Thu 26 Feb

We're looking for volunteers to join our Event Crew and Flag Bearers to join the Urban Flow parade at The Beat Goes On.

Feel the rhythm of The Beat Goes On, a high-energy celebration of music, movement and community, marking the end of Wandsworth’s year as The Mayor's London Borough of Culture. Join us at Battersea Power Station on 21 March for a day of live music, dance takeovers, creative workshops and family-friendly activities across this iconic riverside site - uniting the borough’s past, present and future in one joyful finale.

Event Crew

We would love volunteers to help us celebrate the finale of our year as London Borough of Culture at The Beat Goes On. With performances and activities taking place across and around the entire Power Station, roles will include greeting, wayfinding, answering questions and promoting the performances.

The event will be live 11am-5pm and the shift options are half day, 10am-2pm, or full day, 10am-5pm. The full day shift will of course include lunch and both shifts will include refreshments and opportunities to move position to be able to see different performances yourself.

Flagbearers

We're assembling fleet of Flagbearers to join us as we revisit Urban Flow, bringing back 50 silk flags in an  immersive and celebratory procession led by choreographer Nana-Yaa Appiah for The Beat Goes On.

Individuals and groups are encouraged to sign up to join us on 21 March at Battersea Power Station, there will be two opportunities to be part of a procession at 11am and 2pm.

Urban Flow was originally brought to life by India’s Attakkalari Centre for Movement Arts, UK arts charity and silk co-creators Kinetika, and Wandsworth’s Tavaziva Dance, uniting international and local talent in a one-of-a-kind spectacle through the streets of Roehampton.
