Yesterday was the National UK Day of Dance, and we're celebrating by highlighting the incredible work of Pointe Black, an inclusive dance school in Wandsworth breaking barriers in ballet.
Led by Ruth Essel, the Pointe Black studio creates a space for young people from all backgrounds to experience the creative, physical, and mental health benefits of dance, while being unapologetically themselves.
Through our Black History 365 Grant and Welcome to Wandsworth Project Grant, we have been proud to support Pointe Black as they continue to grow their presence in the creative sector.
From performing at Strictly Wandsworth during our year as London Borough of Culture to bringing their powerful production Overcome to the stage, their work continues to inspire audiences and open doors for the next generation.
