Dame Margaret Miles DBE (1911–1994) was a British educationist who served as Headmistress of Mayfield School, Putney from 1952 to 1973. At Mayfield, one of the early comprehensive schools, she championed inclusive education and equal opportunity for girls from diverse backgrounds. Her leadership combined traditional academic rigour with progressive ideals, helping to shape the future of comprehensive schooling in Britain. Later, she became a national advocate for educational reform, serving as President of the Campaign for Comprehensive Education until her death.

Pauline Clark (b. 1944) Pauline Clark is a British wood engraver and painter whose work reflects the precision and quiet intensity of traditional printmaking. Active primarily in the late 20th century, she contributed to the revival of wood engraving in Britain.
