Join us for half term cooking workshops for children! An exciting, hands-on programme designed to inspire healthy eating habits, build life skills, and ignite a passion for cooking in a fun, inclusive way.
Children’s cooking half-term workshops will cost £15 per session. This will include a take - home meal!
In these fun, hands-on sessions led by experienced teachers, children will learn the basics of making the following dishes.
ON DAY 1: Fried dumplings, Callaloo (V) & Caribbean Cod fish (VO), plantain Take-home: Full meal African- Caribbean lunch box ON DAY 2: Jerk Chicken/Fish & Seasoned rice (VO) Vegetables in Jerk sauce (V) Take-home: Full meal Caribbean lunch box ON DAY 3: Spiced burger, burger sauce & spiced Wedges Spiced fish Burger, burger sauce & Spiced potato wedges (VO) Spiced vegetable burger, burger sauce & Spiced potato wedges (V) Take-home: Healthy, homemade African-Caribbean-inspired fast-food alternative. Children will receive certificates and give a brief presentation and parents are invited to the presentation.
Children taking part will build on important life skills, including:
· Fine motor skills & dexterity
· Teamwork, cooperation & social interaction
· Listening, observation & following instructions
· They will also gain valuable knowledge in:
- Kitchen safety and food hygiene
- Nutrition and healthy eating habits
- Maintaining a clean, safe cooking environment
These workshops are the perfect mix of fun, learning and confidence-building - all in a safe, supportive space!
