Hazelfest is an annual, outdoor festival, transforming the green outside Hazelhurst Estate and bringing the community together with colour, music, song and a good vibe.
Tooting Community Kitchen and Summerstown Mission provide free delicious cakes and food, and there are over a dozen arts and crafts stalls with a range of activities to keep all ages occupied. From jewellery-making, weaving and facepainting, to wish trees, CD Portraits, Lucky Dip, even bike repairs and football coaching from AFC Wimbledon. Plus three live performances, of storytelling, music and dance and always culminating in a finale from the irrepressible drumming troupe from local charity, Generate, filling the air with explosive beats. All materials used on the stalls have been upcycled from donated materials otherwise destined for landfill and incineration.
