Unraveling Women's Stories Workshop

Date
Sat 14 - Tue 17 Jun 2025

Join Sibyl Theatre for an interactive oral storytelling workshop.

Join Sibyl Theatre for an interactive oral storytelling workshop. Using prompts, games, and props, we’ll delve into techniques for telling women’s stories during our 1.5 hour session. You can choose to either bring a story from your own family or community to work with, or be inspired by local Wandsworth women throughout history. Together we’ll explore traditional storytelling techniques and develop performance skills as we share women’s stories in a relaxed and supportive environment. Not every story gets written down, but that doesn’t mean that we can’t keep them alive. Led by Catie Ridewood, writer and performer of “That Witch Helen” – a feminist retelling of the Trojan War. "That Witch Helen" is also being presented at Wandsworth Arts Fringe from 21-22 June at The Arches. Praise for “That Witch Helen”: ★★★★ "At its heart this is a feminist play which poses some serious questions about the nature of heroism." - Susan Elkin, London Pub Theatres ★★★★ "Raw female rage. Lyrical, emotive and extemely clever." - London Culturalist
