Ashcroft Technology Academy Media Club

Ashcroft Technology Academy share the amazing experience they had visiting Sky Studios...

Media Club had the Best Trip of Their Lives!

A few weeks ago, year nine Media Club went to Sky News Studios with Ms Tillott and Ms Beale. They were all full of joy for this exciting opportunity! This trip taught them many important skills for their future career, such as: how to create movie trailers and teamwork.

Many students loved the experience, including Arya, who said: “this was so fun and such an amazing opportunity!” They also got to create their own movies which Sahra described as: “very fun and educational” There were tons of amazing costumes such as: wigs, jackets and accessories, camera equipment and helpful staff there to help. They got to act and film some short videos, dressed in fun costumes and created a movie trailer together.

Sky news has a 37-year-old legacy that still lasts strong, as it first started in 1989 as a small channel on TV but is now a household name in the UK. It is behind many successful TV shows and movies, such as the White Lotus, Anora and Nosferatu that their 12.7 million customers can watch.

This trip was very important for the young media club students because it teaches them teamwork, communication skills and a fun journalism experience.
