Dover House Singers

Performing at St Mary's Church, Putney at one of our Christmas concerts

There's a wide range of music, comedy and arts from small grassroots venues like Tara Theatre and Putney Arts Theatre and to the fantastic spaces at the regenerated Battersea Power Station. All the mainstream cinemas are there and the smaller independent ones such as The Backyard and The Cinema in the Power Station. We have opera, art, dance, diverse cultures, everything all in one borough and for all ages and much of it is free. It really is a place that encourages inclusivity.

We are a community choir in Putney with about 60 members. Anyone is welcome to join us, whether you have sung in a choir before or you fancy a new challenge and enjoy singing. There are no auditions.

We sing a wide range of music – from pop songs to folk music and spirituals, stage musicals to classical and lots more in between. We perform two annual fundraising concerts for a local charity, at Christmas and in the Summer. Most of all, we are very lucky to have an extremely talented musical director, Carl Speck. Our hire policy

As well as the many and diverse cultural events taking place, the borough has provided much needed help and support for the creative industries after so many had to close their doors during the pandemic. It recognizes that arts are important for everybody, for enjoyment, fulfilment and for health.
