The Arts Society SW London

50th Anniversary lecture at St Mary's Church in Barnes

I like the variety of local cultural opportunities that are open to residents of Wandsworth.

The Arts Society SW London is based in Putney and meets in the evening on the second Monday of each month for a lecture on an art-related topic.

(It is one of several branches of The Arts Society in the Greater London Area and all the lecturers have been accredited by them.)

The lectures are held in the Community Church, Werter Road, Putney SW15 2LL and start at 8pm. Doors open at 7:30pm.

The lectures can be watched either in the hall or LIVE online.

Admission is free for members, but there is a charge of £10 at the door, for non-members (or £5, by BACS, for non-members to watch online).

Details of how to join the Society can be found on the Society's website.

2026 membership fees are £45 (or £80 for couples) and include 10 free monthly lectures (there are no lectures in April and August), priority access to any visits, study days and tours that the Society arranges.

Members also receive three editions of the award-winning Arts Society Magazine, each year.

Our hire policy

Many of the people who work in the Centre of London live in Wandsworth so their creativity is available locally too. It gives Wandsworth an identity of its own.
