The Baked Bean Charity
In 1997, a six-week drama project in a Wandsworth day centre sparked the start of The Baked Bean Charity. What began with 16 adults with learning disabilities has grown into a leading organisation, enriching people's lives for over 25 years. From Wandsworth to Wycombe, we support 170+ students through 16 diverse classes, from Drama and Dance to DJing and Life Skills. Beyond training, we engage with other communities through performances, workshops, and films that challenge stereotypes and inspire change. Partnering with universities, NHS trusts, and councils, we amplify voices and break down societal barriers. In 2023, we launched The Baked Bean Agency to champion actors with learning disabilities, securing opportunities in TV, film, and theatre. By pushing boundaries and promoting inclusion, we continue to reshape perceptions and open doors. For over two decades, The Baked Bean Charity has been a force for creativity, empowerment, and representation—and this is just the beginning.
