FAQs

When does the year start and end?
Wandsworth’s London Borough of Culture year began in April 2025 and will run until 31 March 2026.
I have a great idea. How can I tell you about it?
We have been delighted by the level of enthusiasm and interest in London Borough of Culture 2025, with many people getting in touch with ideas for projects and exhibitions. Although we wish we could make them all happen, as a small team, we don’t have the capacity to support them all. For this reason, we encourage you to look out for our open callouts as they are announced across 2025 and early 2026, to see if your idea is a good fit for one of our commissions, open grants or Community Investment Funds. Grants will be decided by our London Borough of Culture Local Champions - a new residents’ network making sure the year is truly made by, with and for local communities.
If you're not looking for funding but would like your project to be part of the year, you can sign up for a creative account or register a cultural event as part of our what’s on calendar.
I’m a Wandsworth resident. How can I get involved?
There are many ways you can get involved such as joining our volunteer programme, registering an event as part of our what’s on calendar, responding to a callout, or coming along to an event! Opportunities will be published on our News pages, and you can also subscribe to our newsletter and follow @welcometowandsworth to stay up to date.
What funding/grant opportunities are available?

For funding to support programmes that do not fit with eligibility criteria, have a look at other council funding available. The Wandsworth Enterprise Hub has a brilliant list of funders, some of which may be suitable for you.
How can my school take part in the year?
Opportunities for schools to get involved are being shared in our Creative Schools and Education newsletter - a termly roundup of news, training and opportunities in arts and education. You can sign up here.
