I grew up here, but I feel like I have a whole new understanding of Wandsworth after working on community-engaged projects locally - we are so lucky to have a wealth of wonderful, warm, and welcoming communities that make the borough the beautiful place that it is!
I am an artist, researcher, and facilitator driven by community-engaged creative projects. My recent work has focused on archival public murals that unveil untold stories in Wandsworth. I’ve painted three large-scale community-engaged public murals in the borough – from Wandsworth Town to Tooting! My other work has also included collaborative projects around archiving, oral history, film, participatory murals, and developing card games that play with collective worldbuilding. In my work, I aim to break down the barriers around what is considered worthy of knowing or doing, encouraging us all to practice different ways of being!
I am also currently one of the selected artists for a creative health residency, Culturally Mindful, which forms part of the London Borough of Culture programme in Wandsworth. Previously, I was part of an oral history programme, Storycatchers, capturing the untold histories of South Asian women elders and diversifying Wandsworth archives.
