MalteserZ

MalteserZ (with a ‘Z’) is an all-girl jazz band made up of 13 and 14-year-olds. The band came together naturally in 2023, growing from friendships made at school and Wandsworth Music Academy. Their music is a mix of classic jazz standards and modern jazz, inspired by legends like Herbie Hancock and Charlie Parker. The band shines with their powerful horn section,  featuring Ruby on trumpet, Cecily on alto sax, Amy on tenor sax and Jackie on flute. The rhythm section is lively, with Rosie on drums, Immy on keyboard and Eliana on bass. Over the past two years, they’ve played at many different places and events, such as Furzedown fun day, Battersea Park, Wandsworth Fringe and other festivals. They also had their first European tour in Budapest, where they performed at various concerts, including the Children’s festival at City Park.

Painted Face

Painted Face formed at school, beginning with rock and pop covers by artists like Amy Winehouse, Pink Floyd, Frances Forever and David Bowie, and now focus on their own songs. They blend pop and rock with a touch of whimsy, high energy, strong vocal harmonies and driving rhythms.

Red Handed

Red Handed have been playing together for 6 years now, a group of friends who love making music together. Expect a unique twist on songs you love as well as a catchy original or two.

Soft Focus

Soft Focus is an indie band that lives in the in-between, where emotion lingers a little too long and silence says just as much as sound. Our music feels hazy but intentional, like memories replayed at 2am. With raw lyrics, atmospheric guitars, and melodies that ache in the best way, we turn grief, love, and growing up into something strangely comforting. We don’t shout... we sit softly and honestly with it all, and let ourselves feel every part of it.

Spree

There once was a group of 4 boys

Who liked making musical noise

The neighbours complained with self righteous disdain

But were forced to appreciate the joys.
