Inspiring Women of Battersea - Sharing Event
Jeanne Rathbone has spent years walking the streets of Battersea, carrying the stories of women this city has forgotten. Join us to celebrate the legacy of the project with its self guided audio version at our community sharing event.
This September, we recorded what might be one of Jeannes last ever guided tours because oral traditions disappear unless someone decides they matter enough to preserve.
That recording is now becoming a free self guided audio tour. Made in Battersea. About the women of Battersea. By a team of women from Battersea.
Join us at the ROSE Community Clubroom for a sharing event the first time this archive will be heard together, as a community. We will hear from the project producer - Manasi Pophale from History Speak CIC and Jeanne Rathbone. Join us to test the self guided walking tour, share your feedback and your stories of Battersea.
Women's stories. Women's voices. Women's work. This is what it looks like when intangible heritage is taken seriously before it disappears.
This is a drop-in event. Booking is not mandatory. By reserving your spot on Eventbrite, we will be able to send you email reminders and an advance link to the self guided audio walk so you can download it in advance.
