EVENING LECTURE: Camille Claudel: Loving Rodin
Date
Mon 9 Nov 2026
Camille Claudel became a pupil of Rodin in the 1880s but soon became his lover, muse, assistant and trusted advisor. Their stormy relationship lasted for at least a decade and her last few years were spent in an asylum for the insane.
The lecture will look at the life and works of Camille Claudel. Long overshadowed by the reputation of Rodin, she has finally been rediscovered as a great sculptor in her own right. One of her works, recently discovered in an abandoned Parisian apartment, was sold, in February 2025, for 3 million dollars.
Doors open at 7pm for an AGM and at 7:45 for non-members.
Admission is FREE but donations at the door from non-members are welcome.
