Have fun making your own crop/corn dolly while learning about the history of this important heritage craft. Join artist, craftsperson, and teacher, Lana Zoppi as she brings to life an important heritage craft in a way that is accessible to children
Join artist, craftsperson, and teacher, Lana Zoppi as she brings to life an important heritage craft in a way that is accessible to children. The workshop will introduce them to crop dollies and the different forms they might take, what they are made of, and why they were made!
They will learn simple plaiting/braiding together, going step by step along with some simple knotting techniques to get the form of the dolly. Then each child can choose decorative elements to add to their dolls and make them their own!
It is predominantly a creative session where the focus is on gaining the basic skills to create their own crop dolly to take home with them, styled in their very own way.
All children must be accompanied by a parent for the whole session.
