Acrylic Painting Techniques

Claire Chandler is an abstract painter based in Carshalton. This workshop takes place in the Sprout Art Gallery.

Enjoy an evening of exploring acrylic paint, techniques that will encourage new ideas and inspire your creativity.

Claire will guide you through various techniques, step by step, that she uses in her own paintings:

Use a variety of brushes and palette knives for different effects

Practice blending smoothly from one colour into another.

Apply paint with other household items/ utensils, such as a plastic card, sponge, squeegee, acetate sheet

Apply layers of paint and scrape through with a squeegee or other tools or when dry

Add acrylic structure gel and acrylic gloss medium into your paint to achieve more fluidity/ texture

Practice layering colours with acrylic glaze medium to achieve transparency and depth in your painting

Skill level: Beginner- no painting or drawing experience necessary. Ticket price includes all materials and refreshments.
