The Roehampton Street Band, made up of talented young musicians from local primary schools, bring brass, wind and marching drums to the streets.
The Roehampton Street Band, made up of talented young musicians from local primary schools, bring brass, wind and marching drums to the streets of Roehampton in another colourful musical display, inspired by New Orleans Jazz music traditions.
Olly Blackman (Wandsworth Music tutor and Hackney Colliery Band Drummer) leads the ensemble, rehearsing wind, brass and drum players from Granard Primary, Heathmere Primary, Mosaic Primary and Sacred Heart Roehampton Primary.
The group performed as part of Wandsworth Arts Fringe 2024, processing along Danebury High Street in the heart of Roehampton, and pulling many unsuspecting shoppers and a crowd of family and friends for an unforgettable and joyous performance.
