Inspired by a visit to the V&A Storehouse, where thousands of objects are made visible in open storage, this pavilion displays and curates items recovered from the nearby Waste Disposal Centre inviting us to reflect on value, waste and materiality.

Inspired by a visit to the V&A Storehouse, where thousands of objects are made visible in open storage, this pavilion displays and curates items recovered from the nearby Waste Disposal Centre in collaboration with Wandsworth Council and local communities.

This project is developed through a collaboration between the Sites & Situations Research Lab at the Royal College of Art and the Hochschule Hannover University of Applied Sciences and Arts. The project rethinks belonging not as a social condition, but also something shaped through our relationships with the things we keep, use and discard. By shifting attention from belonging to belongings, the pavilion explores how objects carry memory, value and traces of everyday life within the city.

The pavilion will be activated throughout the Festival, see other listing for details!
