Wandsworth burst into colour last weekend as the borough’s free annual Wandsworth Artists’ Open House Art Trails brought together more than 200 talented artists across 100 unique venues. From studios, community spaces and galleries to cafés, homes and gardens, visitors followed the trail of bunting and balloons to discover paintings, sculptures, ceramics, photography, jewellery and gifts created by local talent.

Despite the challenge of high winds, which scuppered some outdoor displays and sent a few things flying, the sunshine created a cheerful atmosphere for exploring. Many visitors commented on how the mix of weather only added to the sense of adventure as they wandered from one venue to another.

Artists and visitors alike praised the event’s lively community spirit and the opportunity to connect directly over shared creativity. We've had fantastic feedback and good sales throughout the weekend, with many artists welcoming first-time buyers and curious newcomers as well as familiar faces from previous years.

The Wandsworth Artists’ Open House event continues this weekend, offering another chance to enjoy the borough’s vibrant arts scene. With plenty more venues to explore - check out the website for maps of each area trail, pick up leaflets or just look out for the bunting and balloons in Southfields, Furzedown, Tooting, Battersea, Balham, Putney, Wandsworth and Earlsfied between 11am and 6pm Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th October - we're looking forward to welcoming even more visitors, more conversations, and, hopefully, a few more sunny spells to match the bright creativity on display.
