Falcon Road rail bridge in Clapham Junction is undergoing a major transformation over the next few months as we redesign the underpass to create a safer, brighter and more welcoming route.
The new mural for Falcon Road bridge celebrates local landmarks and the local community for a bright, vibrant new look.
The design also address key community concerns such as safety, lighting and noise reduction, after the council listened to the views of local residents and businesses.
These improvement works follow extensive resident engagement, workshops and survey, with over 1,000 responses to help pick the winning design team who are redesigning the underpass. The collaborative design team, led by GPAD and POoR Collective, developed the design over months of engagement and activities with the local community to create a lasting legacy.
The work, in partnership with Network Rail, started on 21 July and will take approximately five months, with overnight closures under the bridge for three weeks from 28 July. The underpass is set to be completed in December 2025.
