J. S. Johnston Active mid-20th century J. S. Johnston was a British artist working in the mid-20th century, whose practice focused on scenes of urban London. Johnston’s work includes depictions of Battersea, capturing the character of its streets and buildings during a period of social and architectural change. Though little is known about the artist’s background, their work contributes to a visual record of London’s evolving neighbourhoods.
