Battersea Power Station from the Park, London
Oil painting by S. Chaplin depicting Battersea Power Station from the park. 2001
The painting beautifully captures Battersea Power Station from across the street. The iconic structure stands out with its four tall white chimneys and large red brick building, featuring a central section with steel cladding. In front of the station smaller brick and glass buildings appear behind the brown brick wall that we can see in the foreground. A street lamp is positioned in front of the scene, and to the right, there are two public telephone boxes. The sky is painted in light blue with hints of grey. Marks in shades of orange and brown are scattered throughout the sky.
