The Sticky Dance by Second Hand Dance

Date
Wed 11 - Sat 14 Jun 2025

Second Hand Dance presents 'The Sticky Dance' for Libraries.

Following the success of the theatre show, Second Hand Dance presents The Sticky Dance for Libraries. Co-created by Rosie Heafford and Takeshi Matsumoto, two dancers' shimmy through the audience weaving a tapestry of sticky tape in this tactile dance performance for young children. They invite you to tape, stick and groove, to see and feel sound or to be still, watch and listen. The Sticky Dance is an interactive, engaging and colourful performance installation for children and their families. We offer a welcoming, inclusive space where free exploration is encouraged through moving, watching, listening, dancing and self-expression. If your child would prefer a more gentle, less busy show, The Sticky Dance on Saturday 14th June is designed for smaller audiences and those that prefer a calmer environment. Late comers and re-entry is permitted, however if the space is already full, we may ask you to wait. “Even the shyest children won’t resist the show’s allure” Theatre1, April 2024. Co-commissioned by The Southbank Centre and The Place, and South East Dance. Library version co-commissioned by Wandsworth Arts Festival and Arts Partnership Surrey.
