The Beat Goes On
Feel the rhythm of The Beat Goes On, a high-energy celebration of music, movement and community, marking the end of Wandsworth’s year as The Mayor's London Borough of Culture.
On 21 March, Battersea Power Station comes alive for a full day of unforgettable performances. From homegrown heroes to international icons, expect live music, dance takeovers, creative workshops and family-friendly activities across this iconic riverside site - uniting the borough’s past, present and future in one joyful finale.
The Beat Goes On brings together chart-topping legends, rising local talent, alongside poetry, dance, hundreds of singers and lots of hands-on experiences. It’s an open invitation to come together, get involved and celebrate everything that makes Wandsworth move.
With UK Garage and Grime stars Lisa Maffia and Romeo hosting the main stage, and the joyful Sarah Jayne’s Dolly Parton Tribute Show, the day bursts with standout moments. Encounter family-friendly circus and street theatre from Brainfools, Jellyfish Theatre and Autin Dance Theatre, and relive highlights from the year as the Strictly Wandsworth dance returns alongside the colourful Urban Flow flag parade, brought to life by the uplifting sounds of World Heart Beat’s New Orleans’ Second Line Band.
