
Become a Young Producer
Do you dream of being the person who brings a dazzling theatre show to life? Want to understand what really goes on behind the scenes of hit musicals like Wicked, the Wireless festival or even a play at your local theatre? Want the chance to produce a real-life Youth Theatre Festival? If you're 16-19 and live or go to school in Wandsworth, sign up to Young Producers!
As part of our London Borough of Culture year, we are offering a unique training and development course for young people to understand the building blocks of being a producer. This opportunity will involve being part of Group64’s UPLIFT Festival in November, a new Youth Theatre Festival at the Putney Arts Theatre, including a youth playwriting competition in collaboration with Theatre503 – the country’s leading organisation for first time playwrights.

What you get for taking part:
- FREE weekly workshops, delivered by experienced producers in the London Borough of Culture team
- Key lessons and insights from guest experts who will share their experience and answer your questions.
- One-to-one mentoring with a professional creative Producer
- A follow up session after the festival to help support you on your next steps on your journey to becoming a producer.

How much time will I need to commit to participate?
Participants will commit to attend four 1.5-hour workshops and agreed times during the UPLIFT Festival. Workshops will run through a hybrid of online and in-person meetings at 5:30 – 7:00pm as follows:
- Session 1: An Introduction to Producing - Tuesday 21st October
- Session 2: Finance & Income Generation – Tuesday 28th October
- Session 3: HR, Legal & Compliance – Tuesday 4th November
- Session 4: Theory into Practice & Preparing for Uplift – Tuesday 11th November
- UPLIFT Festival – Tuesday 18th – Saturday 22nd November
