London Borough of Culture Internships
Fancy working in the arts and culture sector? If you're aged 18 - 25 and live in Wandsworth why not apply to be a London Borough of Culture intern!
This 6-month internship in a Wandsworth-based arts and culture organisation is designed to provide an individual who has an interest in arts and culture with the experience and training to launch a successful career. The internships will run from 15 September - 13 March and be paid at London Living Wage. The programme is funded as part of Wandsworth’s year as the Mayor of London's Borough of Culture.
Applicants will have the chance to choose your top two preferences of art forms between dance, film, theatre, music and community art.
Wandsworth Council will complete initial application checks and a first round of interviews. Applicants successful in this first round will then be matched up with the relevant Wandsworth-based arts and culture organisation based on their art form preferences for shortlisting and a second interview.
Priority will be given to those who are:
- Not in education, employment, or training (NEET)
- In receipt of Jobseekers Allowance (JSA)
- Disabled, d/Deaf, neurodivergent or have a mental-health condition.
- From an under-represented group, including those who are ethnically diverse, LGBTQAI+ and care-experienced

- Salary: London Living Wage
- Contract Type: 6 Months Fixed Term– Full Time (36 Hours). 2 months’ probation.
- Location: Arts and culture organisations in Wandsworth, London.
- Who can apply: 18 – 25-year-olds living in Wandsworth.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage day to day activities at the arts and culture organisation. This could include project support, marketing and communications, fundraising and supporter care or customer support.
- To support the arts and culture organisation in delivering projects during Wandsworth’s London Borough of Culture Year 2025-26, assisting in the formulation, planning and monitoring of projects and programmes.
- Where possible to lead on projects independently; including design, management and evaluation.
- Work collaboratively with all stakeholders, including Council departments and other arts organisations involved in London Borough of Culture 2025.
- Seek opportunities to improve their knowledge of London and the wider cultural sector.
- Provide high quality project and administrative support to other team members working within the organisation to deliver vibrant creative programmes.

15 September - 13 March | Interns have 1 or 2 Experience Days a month across the different arts and culture organisations. |
