Welcome to Wandsworth

Partner Toolkit

We are so pleased to be presenting your project as part of Welcome to Wandsworth, the Mayor’s London Borough of Culture 2025.

About Welcome to Wandsworth

Wandsworth is the Mayor’s London Borough of Culture 2025.

Led by Wandsworth Council in partnership with local people and organisations, Welcome to Wandsworth will be a spectacular year-long programme featuring hundreds of events between April 2025 – March 2026.

We will come together to share experiences, celebrate our heritage and our diverse communities, and supercharge our health and happiness.

Introduced by the Mayor of London Sadiq Khan, London Borough of Culture is an award that sees London’s 32 boroughs bid for funding to stage a programme of cultural events and initiatives. Wandsworth follows Croydon (2023), Lewisham (2021), Brent (2020) and Waltham Forest (2019).

How We’ll Work With You

Someone from our team will be in touch with you about marketing and communications, including a request for images and marketing copy to promote your event/project.

Agreeing announcement / launch dates
We will want to work together to agree key dates, so please don’t confirm these without speaking to us first. With a high-volume programme and a busy year for culture in general, we’ll want to check for clashes and work with you to make it as impactful as possible.

Promotion as part of Welcome to Wandsworth
Once ready to announce, we’ll include your event or project on Welcome to Wandsworth website, with any agreed ticketing run through our ticketing provider, or selected ticketing partners. We will promote it on social media, and Welcome to Wandsworth and Wandsworth Council emails as well as any relevant press releases.

A note on the info you supply

Please note that we reserve the right to edit submitted marketing copy for inclusion on the website and to tailor it for different audience groups. We know our audiences and have lots of experience of what works best in certain circumstances. Any proposed major changes will be run past you first.

Using the Welcome to Wandsworth Brand

It is important that you reference Welcome to Wandsworth and include branding on marketing assets you create, such as flyers and posters. Please also reference Welcome to Wandsworth on relevant pages of your website, newsletters and in social media posts (more on this below).

We have prepared a partner toolkit make things as easy as possible. Below are some direct links to files and assets that you may find helpful.

Please follow Welcome to Wandsworth brand guidelines when creating marketing assets and share key collateral (flyers, posters, videos etc.) for sign-off. As a minimum, collateral must include:

  • The Welcome to Wandsworth logo
  • The Welcome to Wandsworth core partner logo lock-up.

This features the Mayor of London, Arts Council England, National Heritage Lottery Fund and Wandsworth Council logos as a single file. Please do not alter this, as it is part of our funding agreement with these funders.

A Note on Access

Access and inclusivity is important to Welcome to Wandsworth. We follow the Social Model of Disability and are committed to delivering a programme that can be enjoyed by everyone. There are many simple ways that you can remove barriers to make the marketing assets you create more accessible:

  • Use plain language in copy and avoid jargon and long, multi-syllabic sentences.
  • Caption all video content
  • Use image descriptions across social media and newsletters
  • Write hashtags like this: #CreativeOpportunity not like this #creativeopportunity.
  • Accessible design: ensure high contrast between text and background colours
  • Provide simple pre-event info about any strobe/flashing lights, loud noises or moments of darkness. Also include notes about step-free access and accessible toilets.

A Note on Sustainability

Welcome to Wandsworth is calling for action on the Climate Emergency and is committed to building a sustainable environment that encourages participation in climate sustainability practices. We ask that you consider carefully your use of print and other marketing collateral and aim to use recycled or sustainable materials where possible.
