Tooting Bec Asylum Remembered At Tooting Library
Tooting History Group members will be at Tooting Library, Mitcham Road next Saturday 22nd November to talk about their display of photos about "Tooting Bec Asylum Remembered". The display at the Library follows on from the successful unveiling of a Green Plaque to remember Tooting Bec Asylum and publication of a history of the Asylum. The plaque was unveiled at The Heritage Park Estate in September.
From 2pm to 4pm next Saturday, you will be able to meet Tooting History Group members and buy copies of the book for £5 (card payments accepted). There will be photos and other items connected with Tooting Bec Hospital on show which have been donated to the THG in the course of our research.
The exhibition opens at Tooting Library, 75,Mitcham Road, SW17 9PD on Tuesday 17th November and can be seen on the ground floor of the library during opening hours (Closed Wednesdays). You will also be able to see the reinstated Galleon and plaque in the library which was unveiled in July.
