What if joy was about resting, feeling, creating and resisting together? What if joy could be a collective spell for the future?

Altar to Joy is a participatory ritual-workshop where we come together to co-create an altar that honours joy in all its complexity, inspired by the tarot card The Sun. Using intuitive art-making, storytelling, and creative materials, we will craft joy offerings for a shared, sacred altar. We will explore what it means to feel joy, especially when it isn’t always easy or accessible. From glimmers of joy to bigger joyful moments we will celebrate joy as resistance and presence to our needs, with the wisdom and guidance from The Sun.

AJ Venturini (they/them) is a trans, neurodivergent artist, facilitator, and ritual-makercreating emotive portals of collective care. AJ’s work reimagines interactive storytelling through immersive rituals, experiential pieces that mix visual, sound, and tactile materials.
