"‘LAID TO NEST’ is a bizarre, almost wordless, one woman (sort of), physical
theatre piece with elements of performance art & clowning. The piece
follows a Chicken who lays ‘disappearing’ eggs, and centres around themes
of fertility, Amenorrhea, and societal expectations of femininity and the
female body. Jasmine Wilda-Wallace, lead artist and director of ‘LAID TO
NEST’, is a Cumbrian born, working class, neurodivergent performer, with a
BA in Acting & Physical Theatre from East 15 Acting school. After her
mother had to go through 3 devastating rounds of IVF, and Jasmine herself
had to navigate side effects of contraception, severe PMS, Amenorrhea, and
the feelings of frustration, panic and redundancy that come with it - LAID
TO NEST was born. Content Warning: Amenorrhea, Fertility issues, PMS
