Afro Speak: African Diaspora Spoken Word

Date
Sun 15 Jun 2025
"Three women walk through a door and enter a house of stories, leaving their own words as new footprints". For the first time at Wandsworth Arts Fringe, in collaboration with the National Trust, the Diaspora Dames present a unique online spoken word performance, live-streamed from 575 Wandsworth Road. In this intricately crafted home - where art and storytelling weave into its very walls - Nayma Chamchoun, Michi Masumi, and Genevieve Ray will share their journeys, ancestry and how poetry shapes their legacies. A one-hour celebration of storytelling, dedication and hope, this live-streamed event welcomes audiences 12+ worldwide. Join us as we honour Asalache’s legacy, embracing Wandsworth and the National Trust as emblems of British heritage while inspiring new voices in spoken word.
