Voices of Wandsworth: The Roehampton Collective. WORKSHOPS
If a butterfly could hear you, what would you say? Voices of Wandsworth: The Roehampton Collective is a community-led art project celebrating creativity and personal expression.
In a series of workshops at Alton Arts Hub, participants will craft origami butterflies while sharing their responses to the simple yet engaging prompt. These messages will be displayed alongside some butterflies from the original Voices of Wandsworth installation, creating a growing tapestry of voices.
Voices of Wandsworth, began as an immersive installation featuring over 500 origami butterflies, each carrying a unique message, from residents across the borough. These messages ranged from personal reflections and wishes to statements of hope, unity and transformation.
The Roehampton Collective workshops culminate in a public installation, where the collection of butterflies will form a striking visual display.
A final event will bring these messages to life through spoken word and storytelling, connecting past and present voices across Wandsworth. Come along, bring a friend, and be part of something special! Learn how to fold origami butterflies, share your thoughts, and have a laugh.
No experience needed, and all materials are provided!
