Join us this summer at the R.O.S.E Community Clubroom to learn about the life and home of local polymath Khadambi Asalache. A Kenyan born British civil servant, Asalache expressed his creativity through writing, painting and interior design. Discover his process of engaging with the outside world and bringing it inside, to create a new world through poetry and craft. After this introduction, you will embark on your own adventure with a small group of like minded people. A heritage map of the local area will reveal hidden local gems and lead you to your final destination - Khadmabi's home 575 Wandsworth Road that is cared for by the National Trust. His home will fill you with awe and wonder! After a guided home tour, you will have the opportunity to sit around his dinner table and share your thoughts and impressions. A poetry writing workshop at the house will guide you to exercise your own creativity. Find inspiration from local heritage and stories to make something of your own. This event encourages you to slow down, look closely, and find meaning in the spaces around you.
