South London Storytellig
We love working with other creatives in our area. We are embedded in Tooting Common and partner regularly with the Woodfield Pavilion and other local groups.
South London Storytelling devises and produces regular storytelling events for adults and families primarily based at the Woodfield Pavilion on Tooting Common. Our next events are April 25, a performance by Bernadette Russell presenting her new adaptation of Beowulf. On June 7 we will offer a storytelling workshop with the renowned storyteller Tim Ralphs and a performance that evening of stories from the Pentamorone 'How to Spin Enchantment'
Since 2022 SLS has produced the Festival of the Dead on Tooting Common which is a multi-arts event based around stories that ask ‘With death in mind how shall we best live?' The Festival takes place on the nearest weekend to Halloween and includes storytelling, craft and creative activities, talks and a gathering on the field at Woodfield Pavilion. This year the Festival will take place over the weekend 25/26 October.
