Wandsworth Heritage Festival

Wandsworth Heritage Festival is an annual festival celebrating Wandsworth’s rich history through a programme of walks, talks, exhibitions, and creative performances. Last year's theme was 'Wandsworth and the arts’, and was a bumper heritage festival lasting four weeks to mark Wandsworth’s year as London Borough of Culture.

The 2025 Wandsworth Heritage Festival took place from Friday 13th June- Sunday 13th July, and shared a week with Wandsworth Arts Fringe for the first time ever!

Highlights included encounters with the dead in cemetery walks, finding folklore in the borough’s flora and fauna, heritage walks, talks and and archive tours. Activities for children included library storytelling and craft workshops.

The annual Wandsworth Heritage Festival was organised by the Wandsworth Heritage Service to celebrate Wandsworth’s rich past, with the support of contributors from local groups and societies who share their enthusiasm, knowledge, and time.

"Our programme this year aims to show how heritage and culture intersect with one another, inspire one another, and form part of one another. It has come together, as it does every year, due to the willingness of local voluntary organisations and enthusiastic individuals to share their knowledge and throw open their doors" - Cllr Kemi Akinola
