Artist Biography

William Ascroft (1832–1914) British landscape painter and illustrator, William Ascroft was active during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Based in England, he was known for his dedication to capturing natural phenomena, particularly atmospheric effects. His meticulous approach and artistic sensitivity earned him recognition within scientific and artistic circles, including commissions from the Royal Academy of Arts.
