We are producing a book to celebrate the many Extraordinary Women of Wandsworth

This talk will outline our motivation for compiling the book and present the stories of a few of the women who have inspired us. We are keen to represent all communities and both historic and contemporary women will be included. We already have a list of over 100 women - some names will be familiar, but many will be women whose achievements have not been widely celebrated. Can you add to our list? We will feature women who have either lived, loved, studied, worked or been buried in the London Borough of Wandsworth. We hope that Extraordinary Women of Wandsworth will be a useful resource for local historians, Wandsworth residents, schools and tour guides - and will be a catalyst for further research. We also hope that the women's stories will inspire future generation of women and girls. Jenni Bowley's free online talk will outline the research we have already done and will tell the stories of some of the women who will appear in the book. We welcome suggestions from all Wandsworth communities. Who would you like to see celebrated in the book?
