Season of the Song: Eliane Correa Cuban Sextet

Inspired by the modern-day large timba orchestras of Havana, Eliane Correa’s Cuban Sextet brings a high-octane mix of Cuban classics, contemporary Cuban repertoire and some small-format adaptations of Eliane’s original pieces for her supergroup La Evolución. Cuban music goes much further than the sound of Buena Vista Social Club: prepare to be transported by the modern, grooving, passionate and unapologetically complex sound of the younger generations of the Cuban diaspora.

Eliane Correa is a pan-Latinx pianist and composer whose trajectory in the UK and internationally has made her a key cultural figure of the London Latin music community.

Aside from touring as a soloist with Hans Zimmer for the past 7 years and acting as musical director for various touring artists and projects, such as Latin jazz supergroup New Regency Orchestra. Her Cuban funk and R&B fusion band Wara paved the way for Latin Alternative music in the 2010’s in London.
