EXHIBITION at Balham Library: August 7 - 15

Launch party for participants: August 7, 3pm

The exhibition brings together the collective creativity of Wandsworth’s communities in a block printed shamiyana ceiling: a large decorative canopy inspired by South Asian traditions of shelter, gathering, and celebration. Created collaboratively in the workshops, this textile installation is both a visual centrepiece and a symbolic space of welcome and shared expression.

Visitors can explore the stories and symbols embedded in the fabric and learn about the history of block printing.

Front Row: Next Gen

Sim Campbell sits centre stage on a sofa. He is a black man with dyed dreadlocks, wearing a black vest, grey shorts and white socks. He's surrounded by mysterious figures wearing trench coats, masks and hats. They frame him as they pass objects to eachother, behind and around him. But Sim is looking intently at his own hands, which are held up in front of him as he uses sign language.
