The Clockwork Underpass

Date
Fri 20 - Sat 21 Jun 2025

The Clockwork Underpass is an audio-visual installation by Daria Baiocchi and Adam Stanovic.

The installation pays tribute to the cinematic heritage of Wandsworth and, more specifically, the Trinity Road Underpass, where key scenes from Stanley Kubrick’s ‘A Clockwork Orange’ were filmed.

The underpass plays a significant role in Kubrick’s work, symbolising the intersection of architecture and film while exploring notion of futurism, brutalism, dystopian Britain, and social decay. The work is composed for multiple loudspeakers and is accompanied by visual projection. It features sounds and images from various cinematic works associated with the area, alongside bespoke recordings of Wandsworth as it is heard today.
