Rukhsati
RUKHSATI is about love, life and lotas..
A seriously funny two-hander based in South London/Tooting. The play is set at a wedding hall and explores complex relationships in a South Asian/Muslim context and the nature of change in our communities. Produced by Insaafi CiC with Theatre503 as part of the Wandsworth Arts Fringe and Borough of Culture 2025 activities. Insaafi's aim is to develop creative solutions to issues of discrimination and injustice to address the absence of shared histories and explore hidden narratives. We are a collective of artist and campaigners based in England and Wales. Theatre503 is a 64-seat theatre based in Battersea. They are the national home of new writers and a launchpad for the artists who bring their words to life. They stage the work of more first-time writers than any other theatre in the country, and programme over 80 new pieces of writing every year ranging from short plays to full runs of superb drama. They are pioneers in supporting new writers, finding exceptional playwrights who will define the canon for the next generation.
