Before We Were Proud documents the personal histories of older LGBTQ+ community members through photography and written interviews. As society becomes more open, it's important to remember the not-so-distant past when many faced physical and mental abuse simply because their sexual identities diverged from the majority. This ongoing project aims to preserve their stories and ensure their experiences are not forgotten.
